Pendennis Castle

Set high upon the headland with panoramic views out to sea, Pendennis Castle is a spectacular location for memorable occasions. It was built in the 1540's on the orders of Henry VIII and has stood for five centuries protecting the British mainland from foreign invaders.

St. Mawes Castle

This charming and romantic castle occupies a magical setting, proudly defending not just the world’s third largest natural harbour, but also protecting one of the prettiest villages in the West County, its namesake, St Mawes.

Completed in 1545, its clover-leaf shape was originally a clever design feature to deflect enemy gunfire. Today, these smooth curves complement the beautiful landscaped gardens and panoramic views of the surrounding coastline

Eden Project

Walk down into Eden and travel the world in a day; from the rainforests to the warm Mediterranean. The whole site is open to visitors - Plants, interpretation, art, sculpture, performance art, restaurants and much more!

The Official Opening of the National Maritime Museum by the Duke Of York. The museum, costing over £21 million, is a major landmark building on the waterfront, housing state-of-the-art interactive displays, depicting both the nation's and Cornwall's maritime heritage. A major feature is the NMM's Small Boat Collection, hitherto unseen, tracing the evolution of the significant small boats that have shaped modern craft.
